Hello all – hope everyone is staying nice and warm after a Fri/Sat spent outside at UVic

Wow – 45 games in less than 2 hours!! Congrats to all on a very successful 2022 Spartan Shootout!

Below is part of a note I sent out to the guys today but wanted to say thx to all for their time and efforts in helping make the weekend a big success on and off the field. The volunteering, program sponsors, lifters, drivers, etc – thx to all. I’ve sent a similar note to staff thanking them for their help and support as well

Bigger thanks to our all star field crew for their massive help in setting up and cleaning up our fields, nets, cones, and so much more. Alumni dads Mike Verhagen and Kevin Morrison returned this year even with sons no longer with the program and were also helped by Dan Adey and Sean Johnson.

Biggest thanks to the brains of the operation – Lisa Carson for not only organizing the whole event and getting volunteers in the right spots but ..who was sitting there scoring the last game of the day Sat?? Of course, Lisa

As well, alumni mom (last kid graduated in 2016) Michelle Glanfield for once again putting together an amazing tourney program. She kills it every year!!

And of course our amazing coaching staff (Chris, Scott, and Bert) hanging in there full time in the wind, sun, rain, etc to coach all the Spartan teams over the two long days. Great crew to work with!

Team – wow, what a weekend!!! 45 games in aprox 32 hrs. Except for a few moments think we can call the Shootout a big success and of course Friday Night Lights was special for all, especially our grade 12 guys. Congratulations on a good weekend. I know the coaches look forward to getting the video so we can review, learn, and get better

Seattle guys – please make sure you bring in your hard copies of the permission forms, please have your parents pay the trip fee of $165 or get to me, and please make sure all do the waivers that I sent to your parents

Guys who travelled back east and FNL – need pinnies in and for those not going to Seattle need the jersey too

Onto Seattle this weekend and then we’ll catch our breaths a bit, put sticks away til the New Year and get some PE, training, fitness, and video review in as a part of our mornings moving into Dec and Jan

For those with sons travelling to Seattle this weekend please have your sons return permission forms, $$, and if necessary washed pinnies and uniforms

Have a good Sunday

Thx – Darren
