After an awesome 2 weeks of hard work and effort physically, it’s time to take that same attitude and work ethic as we pick up the sticks tomorrow and transition our training to lacrosse on field. Friday was also a great day for our 9/10’s as they were down at Cordova Bay Elementary helping the younger students with their Terry Fox Run.

We will try lacrosse days at Claremont for the rest of Sept and most of Oct but weather and field conditions will determine when we begin use of the turf field. I’m anticipating that to be mid to late Oct and will make sure all have lots of warning.

Almost all gear is ready, available, and screened but still waiting on a few items – I’m hopeful that at some point this week it will be ‘Christmas at Claremont’ and the boys will receive this years clothing and equipment. I’ve been instructed that no gear/clothing is to distributed if deposits are not made so…please don’t shoot the messenger and if there is a problem please let myself or school principal (Peter Westhaver) know and we will work it out as I don’t want any of the guys to be excluded.

Until gear is handed out I’m asking that the boys wear their own for the start of the week.

We will have lacrosse Mon, Tues, and Thur this week. Wed is parent night and early closure so that day is a PE/training day and Fri will either be lacrosse or strength training.

Parent night/Meet the Teacher is this Wed (Sept 26) from 6-8:00. I haven’t seen the schedule for the evening yet but..traditionally the ‘block rotation’ does not leave us enough time to go thru all that is needed for the CSI lacrosse program so I am tentatively suggesting that we will have an entire CSI parent meeting/Meet the teacher from 5:30-6:00 to allow a little more time to review all that is needed. Will confirm the time and room tomorrow when at work and do hope that at least one parent can attend (despite the early time).

Dates to remember are:
Oct 6 – Bottle Drive (have the boys canvas and start collecting their own neighbourhoods)
Oct 7 – Victoria Marathon (approx 7:30 a.m. to noon)

As I said it has been a fantastic start and excellent two weeks – look forward that to continuing.

Thanks,
Coach Reisig
