News and Announcements
Rosters and schedule for the weekend are now available on the site on the Spartan Shootout 2018 page
Most games are clear as to if they are team 1 or 2 but…to avoid confusion:
-Friday Night Lights (FNL) is for gr 12’s (parents please be at game no later than 7:30)
-there is a just gr 11 game prior to FNL
-the jr team playing Coq club Sat will be the jr guys heading to Seattle next weekend as a warm-up game
Will want ALL guys to be a part of the fun Friday night so will be expecting them to be in attendance.
Hope that when Caroline sends out volunteer schedule that all families get behind this – a tournament of this magnitude is too much for the coaches and just a few parents to run. NEED ALL families to help in some way.
Transport to and from games will be up to each family to arrange. We want the guys there ready to go a minimum of 30 min prior to their game. Will also be needing help from guys setting up and cleaning at start and end of each day.
Cross your fingers for good weather.
Looking forward to a great weekend of lacrosse with your sons – see you at the field(s).
See below for article in The Province newspaper about the Claremont Lacrosse program:
Hello all – hope long weekend was a good one. Weather was great for mid Nov!
Also hope those involved in Richmond and Baltimore has success and played well individually and as a team.
A few updates for all:
-Tues and Thur both groups are at the turf (jr Guys reminder to be dropped off approx 8:50)
-Wed at school for PE/fitness
-Fri – TBA (weather pending if lacrosse or strength training)
Gr 9/10 guys:
-reminder to all to get their brief assignment done for tomorrow
Sr team east last week:
-some pics were sent this weekend and it can be seen that a great experience and trip was had by all. Lacrosse was a little up and down at times but by Sunday the abilities and skill set was shining as well as the high level of play expected of this group. Many spectators, opposing teams and college coaches spoke how impressed they were.
-next up is our annual Spartan Shootout Nov 23/24. Jr teams have been selected by coaches and sr teams have been selected by Gr 12 captains as we do every year. These will be posted at schools and via website after Tues training to ensure proper selection has occurred.
-Tourney schedule is done and in Draft format. Before releasing (and hopefully to avoid future versions) I’m waiting in field confirmations as well as team travel. I’m hoping to have out later this week.
-when released and when Caroline Mace produces the volunteer schedule please ensure each family takes a turn and chips in for the tourney to be a success on and off the field.
Fri Night Lights:
-Nov 23 we will have our annual FNL match at UVic and as we have done the last 2 or 3 years will ‘honour’ our graduating class and their parents prior to the game. Hopefully parents can ensure availability. Tentative time for that game is 7 or 7:30 p.m.
Space Needle tournament (Seattle):
-Nov 30-Dec 2
-permission forms will be ready and sent home next week. (Approx cost is $140-150)
-tentative plan will be having our school bus take 23 players, myself another 4 or 5 and then looking for a few (guessing 4 or 5) parents with CRC’s and volunteer driving forms done to help transport the remaining guys travelling. Travel to and from will be all asked to do as coaching staff will take care of rest of organization of both teams. Please email me if u are able to or interested in doing so. Any players selected whose parents are travelling earlier than with team please make sure to let me know.
Photos have been added from the trip to the Autumn Gold tourney in Baltimore and NYC.
Thanks to Darren and Craig Pullan for photos.

Finally – we look to be set. Claremont school will be hosting SAT sittings both Dec 1 and Mar 9. Dec 1 only has 50 seats and Mar 9 will have 100.
Go to SAT College Board to register.
Our school code is 94487.
For the Dec 1 sitting you must register by Fri, Nov 2 at midnight to avoid the late penalty fee.
I recommend all 11 and 12’s with any thought at all of possibly going south for school to look to write at least one time, maybe both. Recognize that the Seattle tourney is in conflict for some guys but that was beyond our control.
The Mar 9 sitting should have no conflict as High school BC’s are slated for Mar 6-8 and we will be home that evening.
More details available in attached document.
Any questions let me know or have your son talk to me.
Thx – Darren
