Well……that was an interesting 24 hrs and a bit chaotic.
Apologies for the craziness of the day as well as the cancellation of the high school provincial tournament but up to the 11th hr this morning the organizers were doing everything possible to try to make work. Coquitlam and area took too much snow yesterday and last night and there were still significant amounts on fields today and the city of Coquitlam shut down all fields.
It started snowing as soon as we were to play our first game yesterday at 2:00 and didn’t stop til after midnight.
Results aside, aware that the boys are disappointed in losing their tournament but Mother Nature won the battle. Feel particularly bad for our 12’s who now miss out on their last BC’s as well as the chance to get another banner but..can take solace in knowing nobody else has it either.
A lot of time was spent and unfortunately so was a lot of money and most we can not get back as rentals and hotels, while sympathetic, still have their businesses to run.
Thx to everyone for their patience, help, and time as we sorted options out. Especially those at the ferry terminal today!!
All guys should be at school tomorrow. At least they get to take part in the Spartan Day and a special timetable. All should be wearing red (pinnies???) and I think Grads are to wear their grad ones.
Have a good weekend – one more until spring break!!
